My guess was that there would be bidders who won't bother with the deliberate research that might lead them to this thread, who would be seduced by the recognizable brand name, the solid gold case, and the uncommon "split seconds" feature that typically fetches much higher prices. In speaking with Jeff yesterday morning I even guess it would beat the estimate.
But maybe there's a little bit of justice in the world, if only a very, very little bit.
