: I have a 50 year old Accuton. How many were made? What are they
: worth today? Thank you.
Over the years, Bulova made many accutrons and in quite a variety of styles and designs; railroads, divers, dress, etc. Within those groups, some are more rare than others, so the value of your watch cannot be determined without knowing all of its details, ESPECIALLY condition. Another important factor in determining its value is date of manufacture. Bulova conveniently provided that information on the back of your watch and under the serial number. You'll find one letter and one numeral; the letter M is for the sixties and the letter N for the seventies, while the following digit represents the actual year, ie, M4 was made in 1964. There are a number of forums dedicated to Bulova/Accutron which can help you to determine the value of your watch. Here's one: http://www.watchtalkforums.info/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=40. If you Google Accutron Repair, you'll find several individuals in the US who specialize in these watches and who also buy and sell.
