Re: The Ten Great Mysteries of Collecting Vintage Heuers
Aren't the PVD monacos a pre-production trials? The numbers made are so small that it seems they must have been sample watches??? but if this is the case why do they not have "chronomatic" on the dial??? It is strange also why heuer used the valjoux 7740 movement which is strangely similar to the cal 11 also????
Looking at the blue dials with no markers, these look wrong to me?? the heuer logo letter "E" are fake/re-done looking.
but i remember one example had a letter for Tag heuer confirming authenticity, probably easier for them to confirm and restore than to deny authenticty as there are few examples.
white dial viceroys are acceptable surely. but preferred with-out the "v"
I have some cases with no numbers at all, monacos, autavia, 60's carrera and bund cal 12. all NOS i guess they are case testers, not sure.
How many skipperrera's were made???
why do the blue dials on early monacos and silverstones fade away?
Its great to have these mysteries and make it all more exciting.
