Can I suggest that thefts are reported to the UK police and also entered on the stolen items online database (make sure that the stolen flag is enabled and include serial numbers and any identifying marks).
The police, auction houses and dealers regularly check the database before buying watches or other high value goods and report/act on any suspicious items. The URL address is:
