This is my celebration watch today...

...this is my very first Heuer watch...the one that is responsible for my passion about Heuer watches today...

Cheers,

:
: just a quick reminder that Tuesday, March 3, 2009 will mark the
: 40th Anniversary of the introduction of the Chronomatic / Cal 11
: series of movements, with the related chronographs -- Monaco,
: automatic Autavia and automatic Carrera. I don't propose any
: structured events or scan day, but be thinking about how you
: will celebrate!! Some ideas for you to consider: wear your
: favorite Chronomatic / Cal 11 / Cal 12 / Cal 14 / Cal 15 all day
: long

: wear nothing but your favorite Chronomatic for at least one minute
: during the day (or night)

: wear a Cal 11 on your left wrist and a Cal 12 on your right wrist;
: a Cal 14 on your left ankle and a Cal 15 on your right ankle . .
: . then walk on all fours, even for just a few feet

: strap on an Autavia Diver 100, and dive to 100 meters . . . then,
: tell us whether the chrono is still waterproof

: put on an Autavia GMT and see how many timezones you can cross
: during the day, even if it involves a 150 mile drive to a
: neighboring state (or country) . . . turn the bezel when you
: cross the state line!!

: get on a highway in a 1163T or 1163V, and click off some measured
: miles . . . imagine that you are Siffert or Bell, behind the
: wheel, coming down the Mulsanne Straight

: put on a 1133B Monaco and watch Le Mans, from beginning to end

: wear a watch with a Buren micro-rotor movement, and know that
: without these wonderful little movements, there would have been
: no Caliber 12 for us to enjoy

: wear a Breitling Chrono Matic in the morning and a Heuer
: Chronomatic in the evening, and maybe a Hamilton, Bulova or
: Zodiac when no one will notice

: if you are a contrarian, then you can wear a Zenith or Seiko
: automatic chronograph . . . try to convince your friends that
: these were actually the first automatic chronographs to be
: introduced

: open up your Bundeswehr chrono (Valjoux 230) and try to jam a
: Caliber 12 into the case; be careful as you drill the hole at
: 9:00 (nine o'clock) for the crown . . . let us know whether you
: are successful in this endeavor!!

: stay up late on the night of March 2nd, and watch the date click
: over to March 3rd . . . of course, if the date begins to move at
: 10:30 p.m., you will know that you have a Cal 12 and if it
: begins to move at 11:45 p.m., you will know that you have a Cal
: 11 . . . watch the date change from March 3 to March 4, and shed
: a tear when the 40th anniversary is over!!

:
: You get the idea -- find some great way to celebrate the
: Chronomatic, and be sure to share the experience with all your
: friends on this forum!!
