I need A Blue Vintage Monaco !
: Just a few IMO thoughts were I am coming from with the 1163 MH:
: The 1163 MH was introduced parallely to the 1163 T Siffert, to date
: we know four Chronomatic Sifferts but only one Chronomatic Derek
: Bell as we call the black dialed 1163 MH.
: After the introduction of the Viceroy (had Tachy bezel instead of
: Minutes and Hours) which had the same dial design than the MH,
: however was offered for 1/3 of the price, therefore sales in the
: big US market shifted towards the Viceroy. Most of the cases
: therefore produced in the 72/73 timeframe were marked 1163 V and
: also used for Sifferts.
: However the MH disappeared unloved out of the catalogs as eraly as
: 71 and 72 there was already one shown with red minute sub
: register marks which could have been the start for the orange
: boy, hence offical production time was less than two years for
: the 1163 MH and she never shall return. The Viceroy came back in
: the 1977 catalog as reference 1163 V NT ( V for Viceroy, N for
: noir black and T for Tachy). The MH bezels are sold out at Tag
: Heuer hence a reconversion is not possible in bigger numbers.
: Finally one could say the 1163 MH is a rare one and there was
: even a second great racer wearing the beauty...
: Cheers
