Great trio you have purchased there, and from a good guy!
I'm with you on the PVD..wear it, patina adds to the look..
The main reason I had another case top PVD coated was because I also had a bracelet done..I like the feel of the bracelet..and I am a color guy, so there was no putting a modern PVD finish with a 30yr old one..this being said, I do wear my old PVD on a semi regular basis..no nicks as of yet, but alot of great wear!!
