opening the back on it? i also inherited a pocket watch from my great granfather. he got it in 1913, it's a cheapy for it's time a hampden.

mine was easy as the dial had the name on it, but upon opening the back, the movement was also signed hampden. not sure if it will be signed by the manufacturer of the actual movement or the finisher? maybe worth a look as sometimes these pocket watches have very well decorated movements. mine didn't as it was a cheapy for it's time, but yours might? also to note, these suckers are tough. mines a 7 jeweled movement this sucker was serviced once in 1920 and never again. when my father gave it to me it had sat in a drawer for a long, long time. never wound either. i wound it, ran like a champ.
