70s were a bit different

Mark-

Xavi was the man of the match, although I would have said Puyol: up and down the field and didn't put a foot wrong. He opened it up for the big three to run the triangle.

I think the negative stigma in football is a fairly recent phenomena. 60s and 70s were typified by pretty gentlemanly behavior. Cruyff and Beckenbauer were pretty quite, even a tad intellectual.

It is interesting to note that Ebel has seized the football market with Arsenal and Bayern chronogrpahs. Seems that even today, manufacturers are steering clear. I think this is a mistake; I suspect there is lots of crossover with football and watches that hasn't been exploited.
