These are fantastic. I've worn mine all this week (see OTD section) and its an absolute favourite. Triple date, great dial and a great movement, and the top of the Carrera range. Go and price the equivalent Rolex Datocompax : whatever you get it for it will represent great value comparatively.
They are rare as they were the most expensive in the SS line when new- they are the ultimate Carrera.
It uses a Val 72 movement I believe and anyone with experience in this movement can service it. A local watchmaker here did an excellent job servicing mine last year.....he has been trained by Patek though. As Jeff said, make sure the dial is good as I imagine these are impossible to find.
