Based on the many, many pictures I have seen during years, I'd say that only the 510.50X's (the supposed winners in the 2010 value-gain race of DC ;-)!) routinely carried signed crowns, and on others they were probably substitutions.
510.50x: Signed crown, reference engraved on the back (among other things), no SN visible anywhere on the outer case, rotor signed 'Lemania'. A few have unsigned crowns but they should be aftermarket IMHO.
Carreras (510.511, 510.523): Unsigned crown, reference engraved on the back (faintly, and nothing else), no SN visible anywhere on the outer case, rotor signed 'Lemania'.
A couple 510.523's with signed crowns, thicker than the usual unsigned one.
Cortina and "non-Cortina" (510.513): Unsigned crown, reference engraved on the back (faintly, and nothing else), no SN visible anywhere on the outer case, rotor signed 'Lemania'.
Silverstone and "non-Silverstone" (510.403): Unsigned crown, reference engraved on the back (faintly, and nothing else), no SN visible anywhere on the outer case, rotor signed 'Lemania'.
AMI (510.543) : Unsigned crown, reference engraved on the back along with military markings, no SN visible anywhere on the outer case, rotor signed 'Lemania'
AudiSport: Unsigned crown, but I have never seen the inside and also the case back just once, it's engraved with the usual "All stainless steel" etc. like the 510.50X but lacks (as some of the 510.50X, again) the Heuer logo and seems to be lacking the ref. as well.
So based on evidence I have seen in the metal or in pictures here and on other fora:
- Always unsigned crowns but the 510.50X and very few 510.523's (aftermarket IMO)
- Always Lemania-signed rotors
- Reference on the case back but also some w/o reference at all (AudiSport the most notable)
Hope this may help somehow.
Cheers.
