One real benefit of the registry / "cheat sheet" is that when we see two chronographs with close serial numbers, it is reassuring that they also have the same elements (hands, markers, etc.). Early 1163 MH case number with brushed hands is a problem . . . but this substitution happened, when people replaced the discolored polished hands with the more plentiful Viceroy style hands. There will be huge benefits from a good registry . . . detecting "frankens" / after-market parts is one benefit; confirming originality is the very satisfying flip-side of this equation.
