Beautiful piece, indeed, Jeff! I think its tachymeter scale is probably very significant about what was perceived as high performance in the cars of the day, as it is graduated from 41 to 120 only. Later chronos used to have scales up to 200, 300 or even more!
The original Carrera Panamericana created its legend in only five years. The current event has been taking place continuously since 1988.
