The real revelation for me, seeing it in the metal, is that it is old . . . got to guess at least 20 or 30 years.
Over the weekend, I will pull out Occam's Razor, and try to assemble a coherent story of who actually made these things: maybe Heuer?? maybe a surplus / scrap dealer?? But, seeing this one rather than the usual NOS variety, I am farily certain that they were made a long time ago.

: originals. I've seen serveral re-dials in the flesh now, infact
: i pulled a 1533b re-dial off yesterday and that too loked nicely
: aged, i think all that proves for me is that the redial has some
: age to it, not that it's a "proper" dial.
