It just means more watches with 6-9-12 stacked registers like a Valjoux 7750. Medium-term replacement for that movement? Perhaps Swatch Group are squeezing Valjoux supply/prices like they did with Lemania before? You'd think that wouldn't make commercial sense given just how many watches use 7750s nowadays but you never know.

I don't have a problem with TAG-Heuer developing from another manufacturer's base design - after all, even the Calibre 11 uses a Büren base calibre. I do, however, kind of wish that they hadn't chosen a movement with the same configuration as a 7750 - there is a glut of those watches on the market, they are (to me) rarely interesting or attractive and, successful or not, I still really don't see what TH's 7750 Carreras actually have to do with vintage Carreras... the only Heuer Carreras with 6-9-12 stacked registers were the Lemania 5100-driven models right at the end of their lifetime and their 12 o'clock register has a different function to that of a Valjoux 7750.

Optimum result for me? Use this new calibre in Link chronos and movements with 3-9 and 3-6-9 registers in Carreras. Sorted.
