Maybe I am wrong, and folks want to be alerted to new and exciting listings from EBay and other sites around the world. Keeping the buying active helps to maintain the value of all our watches but will tend to elevate prices over time by more awareness and more bidders. That might, in the end, be a good thing or not depending on your POV.
