Dear Ron, fantastic outcome for a bold and courageous gamble!
The dial looks fantastic, and now indeed the task is how to complete it to a finite watch in the correct manners.
I have no clues whatsoever of the original that it should be, still:
- I do think you should keep something of the original 'racing / aviation' spirit of the Autavia family, so either a MH or Tachy bezel.
- Proportions are always exquisite in any Heuer, so as David suggests before going for any 'implant' (as it were...) from a 'cousin' Carrera be sure dimensions of the subdials are the same. Still an Autavia is always a larger and more 'important' watch than a Carrera, so who knows?
