Cal 12 Can Be Wound
In Response To: Cal 12 ()

Is this true... i.e. is it not possible to manually wind a Cal 12.

This is absolutely false. A Caliber 12 movement can be wound; the crown should wind easily; if the crown doesn't wind the watch, then there is a problem with the movement.

: Hi
: Second post of the day!

: I am the happy owner of a Autavia 11630MH (cal 12) which I
: purchased from a reputable seller based in the US. Upon
: receiving the item I noticed that you cannot manually wind
: it.... I asked the seller if this was correct and he said it
: was. Is this true... i.e. is it not possible to manually wind a
: Cal 12.

: I did find an old manual wich described the crown's use as for
: 'winding and setting' which raised my suspicion in the first
: place!

: Cheers
: Ben
