Re: Heuer Autavia GMT
In Response To: Re: Heuer Autavia GMT ()

Thanks Darren, so if I wanted to set it for the time in a country that was say 6 hours behind London, I would use the 24 hour marker on the bezel for 6 o'clock, '18' and set that at the top of the dial??

Thanks

David H

: Hi David,
: its a common misunderstanding to beleive the GMT hand is
: adjustable. The Gmt hand actually travels at half the speed of
: the hour hand, hence making a full revolution once every 24
: hours. Its the outer 'pepsi' bezel which you rotate to line up
: the GMT hand and indicate the desired time zone.
: For example, currently at midnight in Denmark, my home town of
: Melbourne is 10 hours ahead - therefore in Denmark i set the
: bezel mark of 10 at the top centre of the watch (12 o'clock
: position) and from then on Melbourne's time is is read from the
: GMT & minute hands.
: Hope this helps you - Darren
