I must confess I often wear a Golden watch...I only have two. My Rose Gold Grand Carrera...which I wear very often and my precious vintage Heuer Carrera 1158CH, which I only wear at special events.

The 1158CH I love to wear on a black Corfam strap...just a perfect vintage look and feel...just look at the pictures to be convinced ;-)

However, untill today there was one little thing that disturbed me very much while wearing this watch. The buckle as in the pictures above looks also like it's made out of gold...however it's goldplated, thus "not real". Wearing something that looks like gold and...actually isn't gold at all just feels plain wrong to me...it's like cheating on yourself...but that's just my thought ofcourse ;-)

For me it was fairly easy to make such an Heuer buckle in yellow gold myself, well besides the lack of time ofcourse ;-) So, here it is...a nice self-made Heuer buckle in 18 carat yellow gold (it still needs some refined polishing at the back)...perfectly made to fit my vintage 1158CH...it's the little things that make it!!
