I Believe that Heuer Used the Arrows in Two Scenarios

I will seek to confirm this with our best expert, but I believe that the arrows were put on the back of the bottom right lug (as you look at the dial), in two scenarios:
  • When a Caliber 11 came in for servicing and was retrofitted to Caliber 11-I standards

  • When a new watch was produced with the Caliber 11-I movement installed. [Of course, these watches would also have the "I" marked under the balance wheel.]
In either scenario, the arrows on the back of the lug alerted the next watchmaker to work on the watch that he was dealing with a Cal 11-I movement, and not a Cal 11.

I will seek to confirm this and clarify it on our Chronomatics page.
