They are a substantial size...
Just measured my Auto McQueen that I'm brandishing today....
Case 40mm across
Case and pushers 45mm across
(note- the original case design is larger in width than the TAG re-editions)
Case length excluding lugs 38mm
Case length including lugs 46mm
Case thickness including glass 14.5mm approx
The square case design has significantly more surface areas than a round case design of similar proportions.
