OK, here is everything you need, to figure out what's in the box, shown in the photo below:- Born sometime before 1958
- Memorial Day 1966 -- made the field, but not the first lap
- Better luck there in 1968, representing the City of Seattle
- Retired from competition in 73, with 74 finishing 18th behind Redman, Donahue and Scheckter
To win the contest, you will need to answer the following three questions: - What are the timepieces (make and model)?
- Who was the previous owner of the timepieces?
- Which driver was being timed in the “retirement” race and what make, model and and color was his car?
Two pounds of M&Ms -- plain or peanut -- to the first person to answer all three questions correctly. Post your requests for more clues, or maybe even the correct answers. In the days before Google, this would have been a tough contest. With Google, I don't know whether people will be able to figure this out in ten minutes (or maybe it will take ten days).
