I sent a Vintage Heuer for a service a while back with instructions to have a full service, new glass and key to this story a vintage relume on the dial and handset.
After chasing to find out what's going on - (been moe than 3 months now) I have today been informed that the original hands have been lost when being returned from the finisher in the post. They were sent recorded delivery and thus no value attributed to an insurance claim etc.
So, I'm now in aposition of the watchmaker in question sugeesting he may be able to find something similar in terms of a hand set or suggesting I try and find a set. Not easy! Plus the originality greatly effects the value, resale etc.
I'm going to try and find a set but not sure how easy it will be.
Do I suggest to the watchmaker that failing that I want to claim for the full value of the watch?
Any ideas/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Plus anyone got any laying about - shouldn;t be the hardest set to track down as it's a later 750 503N
