Re: NOS...
In Response To: NOS... ()

Iwould agree with Davids and Jeffs points, very few new old stock watches on the market and if they come up mostly with a high premium on the tag.
Further I think it is a philosophical question, are you a product preserver or joyful user.
We have learnded an awful lot from nos watches, beside the very few masters around the most important source of information.
I possibly would start my collection with some nice wearers and after a time if you are familiar with brand and productlines pic some of the really good stuff.
Many put togethers around as prices are on the rise, however you can always ask forum members prior purchase.
I don't feel Heuer were seen as an investment during the 70is, similar to the Daytonas they just did not sell as quarz was the trend.
Now quarz is broken after two years and a good mechanical chronograph will find its place in a museum after 100 years.

Cheers

: Since starting to read the forum here and at vintageheuer.net it is
: clear that those passionate about Heuer seem to love NOS pieces!

: I'm wondering why is this the case...why are there so many NOS
: watches around....did they not sell well 'back in the day'?

: For you guys that own the NOS watches, whilst I can appreciate that
: it must be really cool to see a watch as it would have come 30+
: years ago they must be impossible to wear?

: What are your thoughts?
