Very interesting.

I'm sure I've read in the past that some plastic bags can give off fumes, as can some poly-type/man made fabrics. I wonder if the 'sock' was a polyester/nylon mix that caused a reaction? Maybe those others who have had the same problem wrapped their Monaco's in a similar cloth fabric?
