LED/LCD Chronoplit

A Chronosplit might sound as an unusual and strange addition to a Heuer collection : not everyone’s taste, poor reliability reputation, UFO-like Heuer piece are some of the factors that should keep any discerning Heuer collector away from it.
I have to say many inputs from regular Heuer enthusiasts reading materials led me to this one.
Articles featured on Calibre 11, beautiful Tiga’s digital Heuer watches collection pictures on OTD, period brochures on OTD are some of them.
You can add to these, the recent Hamilton Pulsomatic launch or even the TAG Heuer Monaco 69 with its digital screen witnessing what could appear as being a (OK, confidential) digital watches new trend.
From a more personal perspective, the curvilinear 70’s bio design of the case, the combined LCD/LED technologies and many Heuer distinctive aspects (innovation at the time, a real chronograph, worn by many period F1 drivers to name just a few) finished the job.

This particular one has been part of Uli Sick’s collection (Uli runs http://www.led-forever.com/) and as consequence is in real mint condition and works exactly as it should.

To me, this Chronosplit is a real vintage Heuer in its own right and is at the right place in my emerging collection.

Cheers,

Laurent
