Hi Francesco, I understand your concern, I have the same problem here in the UK. My home contents insurance will only cover single items upto a value of £1200 on the standard policy. Any items over that value have to be insured seperately. I have had my watches valued at a local jewellers and it costs about £45 per item. Not cheap if you have a few watches, but worth it if they are worth a lot of money.

: I warn you: this might be a boring topic!!!
: Has any of you, US collectors, explored the possibility of
: insurance coverage for your watch collection? The Heuer family
: is growing and my insurance broker is telling that in order to
: include the collection under my home policy, I must provide an
: appraisal not older than two years for any single watch. This
: seems to me a lot of work and likely an extra cost. I have no
: idea where to get an appraisal and what the price range would
: be? Anybody able to shed some light is appreciated....
: Greetings,
: Francesco
: PS. The bank safe is for me still the very last choice....I wear
: all my watches and enjoy picking up the right watch for the
: daily mood, without visiting my branch...-;)
