Hi Christoph
Believe it or not, so to was the vintage Monaco!
However i expect many (if not all) of the Monacos that were worn in the water ended up back at Heuer for a new dial and movement, which is probably why so many cal11 variants have cal 12's in them now!
I really cannot think for a minute how the Monaco passed any "in house" testing, if you look at the plexiglass and the seal and the fit, it was always a total non starter to keep out any level of water!
I'd expect the Autavia to be more useful with regards to water resistance in the shower or pool, because the Monacos are not evendust resistant ;-) but i'm farily sure the concensus will be to not wear any of them in the pool or shower...
Cheers
: Hi all,
: I just read in an old catalogue that the vintage Autavia models are
: 100 m waterproof. Somehow I canĀ“t believe that as I never
: heared about a vintage chrono to be 100 m waterproof.
: Has anyone tested his Autavia to be waterproof? If yes,
: theoretically a vintage Autavia could also be used for swimming?
: How about the Carrera? Are they also rated 100 m waterproof?
: thanks a lot for your input.
: cheers, christoph
