Re: I'd advise against!
In Response To: I'd advise against! ()

Hi Rich,

I agree 100% - But isn´t it strange that in the vintage Heuer catalogues the Autavia is described as 100 m waterproof?
And how about the Autavia Diver?

cheers, christoph

: Hi Christoph

: Believe it or not, so to was the vintage Monaco!

: However i expect many (if not all) of the Monacos that were worn in
: the water ended up back at Heuer for a new dial and movement,
: which is probably why so many cal11 variants have cal 12's in
: them now!

: I really cannot think for a minute how the Monaco passed any
: "in house" testing, if you look at the plexiglass and
: the seal and the fit, it was always a total non starter to keep
: out any level of water!

: I'd expect the Autavia to be more useful with regards to water
: resistance in the shower or pool, because the Monacos are not
: evendust resistant ;-) but i'm farily sure the concensus will be
: to not wear any of them in the pool or shower...

: Cheers

: Rich
