Lately, I have been reading a lot of the pieces that Chuck Maddox wrote, over the course of his prolific writing career. Through it all, and based on many conversations we had about all his "favorites", I am convinced that this was probably Chuck's favorite chronograph, certainly among the modern ones that can be worn as "go to" watches.
So after all the reading, I just had to buy one for myself [seller's photo shown below].
Through the first few days with the watch, I can report that it is absolutely awesome . . . massive dimensions but light and comfortable; timekeeping and operation are flawless; the bracelet is a work of art . . . When you really study the case, you realize that this one is a Speedmaster on steroids . . . notice the twisted lugs, in the style of the old Speedies.
You can read what Chuck had to say about this one, here -- http://chronomaddox.com/tzc889revisited.html. Yes, Chuck knew his chronographs!!
