Well, I guess £1800 does sound high for the case and movement on their own. The hands and crystal are usable too but of course, not worth the difference. I based it on the fact that over the last couple of years as I was trying to find a Monaco to fit my budget, I've watched the prices go up and up and up. Whilst I agree that the parts alone aren't probably worth the figure quoted, I've seen re-dial 73633's go for a lot more than that. In fact, most of the 73633b's that I've seen seem to be re-dials. The case doesn't look in too bad nick so it could be a wearable watch untill an example came up that had a better dial and a more beaten up case. How much would a dial cost, just a genuine, honest dial, not a mint or NOS, if one came up? £6-800??? In which case, you could make a wearable watch for a very decent outlay. I don't think in all honesty, that any Monaco, regardless of condition, would sell for less than that due to the iconic history and the following they have. I certainly haven't seen one. In fact, a re-dial 'waffle' 1133b recently sold in a shop near me in the New Forest for £3995!
Just goes to show, at the end of the day, it's like someone once told me regarding diamonds; they're only worth what someone is prepared to pay for them.
