Thanks for everyone's help, I've just discovered that the guy was describing the wrong Autavia over the phone! The early example does indeed have the correct engraving (Heuer Shield, Autavia text etc) on the caseback.
I'm in the negotiating phase at the moment... fingers crossed, it's a beauty!!
