having tried on the new carrera i was impressed and think it is a good looking watch, much nicer than the monza which to my mind seems a little brash. as to the quality of the movement i can not realy offer any info other than my ownership (from new) of a 1980s 2000 series auto chronograph that has proved indestructable and only started to loose time and need servicing after 10 years of use. i think it has a similar eta base with chronograph module. the quality of the case on the 2000 is excellent and tag seem to have further improved this since the 80s. the lack of a zenith based movement would not put me off as the trade for a 1/10 sec movement seems to be much more frequent servicing. i have heard unsubstantiated stories about zenith (in the uk) poaching a number of breitling's technicians to clear a backlog of repairs, though zenith have been actively promoting their brand (so they should have been selling more watches) and have put prices up 50% in the last year perhaps to limit sales and keep the brand exclusive. note also that rolex reduced the speed of the train, as part of their modification to the zenith movement, in order to increase reliability.
