See This Message: It's All About the Cookies!!

Here is a messsage from the author of our forum software:

The problem described in the message clearly is the browser not [being] enabled to accept permanent cookies from your site. It's one of these great security improvements to not accept permanent cookies by default. The key is not only to allow cookies, but allow permanent cookies.

Anyway, that's clearly not server-side but either the client itself (browser) or a firewall (whatever) or any other "intelligent" hub on the net between client and server.

Check cookie, check firewall. Most likely that'll solve things.

So guys, please check your settings -- be sure that you are accepting permanent cookies -- and do not hesitate to report any further issues.

Jeff

: As of last night, the OTD forum no longer
: "recognizes" me when I click on it to enter. Despite
: signing in with password via "my profile", as soon as
: I navigate to the "Heuer Forum", the system forgets
: who I am and does not "tell" me what posts are new
: since my last visit. I have made no changes to cookies or
: otherwise that I am aware of. I have signed in multiple times
: today and when attempting to return later, same issue. My name
: does not appear (at the top of the page) and no "New"
: posts are highlighted. Anyone else having this issue? Maybe I
: did something I'm not aware of? I am running Microsoft Vista,
: service pak 2. Again, I am not aware of changing anything as I
: realize that allowing cookies is required for the site to
: "remember" me. Any help is greatly appreciated!
: Steve
