I've owned a heuer daytona for close to a decade now. It's pretty much my everyday watch. I've loved the daytona since seeing an ad for them in Road & Track when I was a kid... I realized some time ago though that I know nothing about them. Finding info on them is really really hard! This web-site has been a godsend, but it doesn't have a whole lot of info just on the Daytona (though much more than anywhere else I've been able to find)

Is it a rare watch?

In these days of newly issued Tag Heuer Repo's is the Daytona a sought after/valuable watch, or has it been forgotten?

And lastly I've got a question about the face. I've never seen a daytona face like mine. It's certainly not a blue one, and unless the years have done some mighty strange things, I'm pretty sure it isn't a grey/smoke face. The outer edge with the tachometer (tachy) is a dark brown-bronzy cooper. The outer portion of the flat face is a green cooper and fades into a lighter gold/cooper in the middle. The flat part of the face looks like it is almost mettalic/pearlesent. If you hold the watch at an extreme angle, the whole flat part of the face becomes the same colour as the outer "tachy" band. All the hands and markers are a light creamy white.

Should the face be like that? Is this a different face than what was normal? Was this an optional face? If it was can you tell me what it was called?
