Sunburst?? - Sun damaged Smoke or something else? *LINK*
In Response To: What's This "Sunburst" ?? ()

That picture approximates the face of my watch. There is a watch on e-bay also that is also similair #4102521991(and listed as a "Sunburst" face - Thanks for finding it David). VintageHeuer.com also has a Carrera with a "Bronze Silkscreen" face that looks almost identical to mine, though mine has much more green in it than all of these other ones.

Now are these Sunburst faces unique or are they sun damaged Smoke/Fume faces? If they are unique, how unique? Otherwise which was the more popular/more produced face the Blue or the Smoke?

Once again, thanks everyone

:
: People genreally refer to Daytonas as either
: Blue (reference letter "B") or
: Brown / Smoke / Grey (represented by the
: letter "F", for fume (smoke)).
: That said, the smoke (F) models seem to take
: on a variety of colors / shades.

: I have occasionally seen Daytonas described as
: "sunburst", including this one - -
: -

:

: I have assumed that this is the smoke (F)
: version, and that there is no third version
: of the Daytona. Is this what yours looks
: like?

: Let me do some additional checking. Maybe other
: readers know more about the Daytonas.

: They are relatively rare (compared with the
: usual Carreras, Autavias, Momacos, etc.),
: and some people really, really like them.
