I have confirmed with our best source of information that Heuer used different series of "service" pushers for the 1960's Carreras, including some fluted ones which were followed by some smooth ones. He also indicated that none of the 2447 or 3647 Carreras came from the factory with fluted pushers. So these fluted ones may be the "middle generation" of service pushers; later ones were smooth.
No, I do not expect to create a table showing the executions of service parts; this can be for someone else!!

Quoting Arno: "Back to the fluted pushers discussion, as
: Jeff stated the fluted pushers were standard replacement, if
: that would be the case we would see all serviced Carreras with
: the fluted design, which is not the case."
: There are two very simple explanations: (a) Heuer made some
: fluted pushers for the Carreras for the service departments, and
: then went back to the smooth ones, and (b) not every watch that
: went in for servicing came out with replacement pushers. [As an
: aside, I am also wary of some watches that come from the
: "Heuer people" . . . the people with access to the
: parts bins and craftsmen have created some interesting and
: creative watches, but these are also not as they left the
: factory. This is just a guess, but perhaps the
: "Albino" Siffert is in this category?]
: I will stand by my belief that all the 2447s left the factory with
: smooth pushers, whether headed for the United States or other
: markets. I have nothing against "service parts" as
: such, but I would value a Carrera 2447 with fluted pushers
: accordingly and do not believe that such a watch could be called
: "all original".
