Re the bund band: I did the same thing with my 1980 Heuer Pasadena. I had two ratty looking bracelets from years of use (the original and a Tag/Heuer replacement from a refurbishing job in the 90s). The bund band is from a Junghans Bundeswehr watch and like your picture the appearance is better than original. The comfort factor is probably why they were used in the first place.
