Hello Jeff,
I had to read the name in the post twice: "Tony Adamowicz" - wow....
My father too had a Porsche 912 in 1969. Apparently, we failed to make a 911 of it. Sometimes
I was allowed to drive it, good old times.....
Today our boxer engines are from Subaru, not too bad either.
I'm very impressed that Tony Adamowicz knows his Heuer very well and still knows when he
received it and where it is today. And this is the point: Professional drivers today get a new watch
every time they move to a new team, due to contracts with sponsors. Will they still know in 42 years
where their watches came from or where they will be at that time?
This is not meant to think bad of today's pilots. But I think, in 1968 you had "the" watch, today you
have many of them.
Best wishes
Werner
: Welcome, Tony!! Thank you so much for posting this message.
: We love the visits from the celebrities, having had messages here
: from the CEO of TAG Heuer, the head of TAG Heuer in the US, and
: representatives of the leading auction houses (Antiquorum,
: Christies and Bonhams). But we all love the stories from the
: racers, and you might be the first world class racer to visit
: us. Bradley has been great in sharing information, and taking
: good care of your old watches, but we do want to roll out the
: red carpet to welcome you.
: So thanks for posting the message, and I know that I speak for all
: our readers in inviting you to continue the discussion about the
: good old days and the great old Heuers!
: Thanks again,
