Sorry to bore you, but I had to share this with someone. I jusy got my new Nikon D70 working in teathered mode to my PC running WIN98SE.

This configuration allows you to attach the camera and control if fully with the PC. All the camera settings are shown and adjustable on the PC.

So with my left arm with watch exposed ready to click the mouse button to take the picture, my right hand was holding the camera pointing at the watch. The USB cable that comes with the camera is only 3 ft, so I couldn't look through the lens when I took this. That's why the picture is focused at the top of the watch and my wrist. This is the stock "Kit" lens 18-70mm, not even a macro. Guess I moved a bit after I peeked through the viewfinder. Tripod mounting and a longer USB cable from the local PC store will solve all that.

Click the mouse on the screen button, the autofocus takes a set, the on-camera flash pops up, and the picture gets taken and loads immediately into the PC in the Nikon Capture picture editing software. A bit of sharpening and voila! My 1000 Diver Automatic on wrist for my "What Are You Wearing Today" picture.

This process is going to make watch macro picture taking a dream.
