Mama Mia, Andrew! That is one heck of an Autavia.
Tip on the use of any nato: fold the end of the strap back thru the loop so it covers the buckle and doesn't clutter the air above and behind the 12. For choice of strap. I love to wear nato's, comfortable and light. A sand/black stripe maybe. I'd not put it on a "big hole" rallye (too 70ies). Corfam would be great.. but I think I'd like to see it on a old matte croc (you may have some well worn ones left from dressier watches) Stick a vintage steel buckle on it... I've got a box full of straps.. you keep swapping until you find a good marriage. My speedmaster recently fell for an "old boot" (thx DavidD!!)
I think your Autavia deserves a lot of wrist-time whatever the strap. Enjoy, Jurgen
