Following on from Shaun’s comments I too have found the 2 vs 3 register dial quite interesting topic. We all know or rather the market tells us that the three register executions are more desirable than the two but that does not mean that they are more attractive. I subscribe to the philosophy that "Less is More" especially in art and design and this applies to the two register vintage Heuer watches. The aesthetic of the dial is very pleasing balancing complication with simplicity. The addition of a small detail at 6 such as a date window or numeral is also a nice touch. Hence the Chronomatic layout, two registers plus date. Here is a small sample to illustrate my point.
