Heuer Watches

Hi,
I'm a very amateur Heuer enthusiast and recently purchased my first Autavia (I found your website invaluable in helping me decide on a purchase -thanks.) But it also made me alarmingly aware of the number of "fakes" on the market. I'm sure I recognise some of the watches in your rogues gallery as items I had considered purchasing. Having made my purchase (I know ideally you should do this first!!) what is the best way to authenticate my Autavia. On a second point I have just spotted another Autavia on eBay which has mercedes style hands. I wasn't aware that this style of hands was used on autavias. Is this one to avoid? Finally I've found it quite difficult to find much info on older heuer watches (pre-Tag.) Other than your site, any recommendations.

Thanks.

Gary
