Hello, I have just signed up for the site after being referred here by Darren.
I have recently found an Autavia and would like to learn more about it and have it repaired to working order. I think this may be the correct place for this!
My story:
My great-grandfather was a hobby-watchmaker/clockmaker and collector. He passed away in 81 and the watch portion of his collection/hobby has been boxed up for the past 30 years. Having in interest in watches, I recently started going through the boxes and benches and turned up some things that caught my eye and have been trying to learn more about them. One that caught my eye was this Heuer Autavia. Right now it is partially disassembled, but all parts seem to present except for the crystal. I would like to have it put back together, running, and wearable.
Darren has given me a lot of good info so far, and I hope to get in touch with a watchmaker familiar with this watch to have it re-assembled/repaired. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
