I agree with Brook, I typically see these between £2500 and about £4500. Cheaper ones are normally something of a project, a basket case (or near enough, some of our watchmakers perform miracles!) or that increasingly rare "I don't know what I have, haven't researched it and vastly underestimated". Some have been asking for higher amounts, given these are sought after, and maybe even sold at that but I see the above as a fair range for both parties.
When you say original strap, is it an original 60s strap with sun buckle or a reissue strap? The former will add some additional value over and above the latter.
Looks to be in nice condition, the only issue is the second hand as Stewart picked up. You should probably aim somewhere between the middle and top of that range and see where you end up. Or, better yet, find that other way to fund the VW and keep the watch!
