Re: Vintage Heuer Stopwatch
In Response To: Re: Vintage Heuer Stopwatch ()

Hi Stewart,

Thanks once again for the posted info...it is a little more confusing isnt it. I should maybe think like a copper to try and establish exactly what it is I have. I must be sad as I work within quality control and very little escapes my eye for detail.I guess the number 512.413 is a certain model which has evolved over the years and therefore has certain differentiating characteristics.
Once again many thanks for your help,
Jon

Hi Jon,
: Glad you re-posted over here. Like I said in my other response in
: the 'Trader' section, it appears to be a 512.413. The link I
: gave you was from the '70 catalogue, but you are right the crown
: on yours is different, more like those from the '63 catalogue.
: With these, there needs to be a varying amount of detective
: work, so I would deduct that it's a 512.413 from around the '63
: to '69. The later '70s versions having a different crown and
: pushers. Best to grab a few beers and trawl through the catalog
: section of OTD.

: Like I mentioned before, I'm no expert in stopwatches, be I'd
: guess-timate at around £100 value. Unfortunately they don't
: command the prices they should. They are beautiful things and
: you'd be hard pressed to find a modern equivalent for the same
: price. It's daft.
: Mind you, 20 years ago Heuer Super Autavias and Monte-Carlo dash
: timers were considered throw away parts from a defunct
: technology from rallying - now they are sought after.

: Stewart
