Perhaps this was close to being the classic matt dial std production McQueen Monaco that is so well known?
I think tin the end they chose the correct path, but i have to say i think the black subs (albeit with a greyer blue dial) offers a look all of its own!
Jeff has a picture of another alternative Monaco design (with the same crazy outside, which i'm sure was not meant to be part of the end design) with round subs...now a Monaco with round subs just would not have been right!
