As you may all know, I have a sad obsession with case reference numbers so this posting is in connection with that very subject.
The one in question is the 33 reference case, otherwise known as the Monaco. It seems that models fitted with the cal 15 movement (which should logically have been referenced 1533) are actually marked 1133 on the case.
At first I thought this was the usual bitsa thing... you know the scenario: watchmaker has a pile of assorted bits and makes 1 good watch from 2 bad ones.... but I have yet to find a Monaco with the 1533 reference at all (the cases would be identical apart from the reference number)
Has anyone out there actually got a 1533 Monaco with 1533 case reference?
Also does this anomaly extend to the 1563, 1553 and 150.633 (that's Autavia, Carrera & Calculator) I have a 1563 Autavia that's marked 1163.
More info would be helpful in revising the MOAT to properly reflect reality rather than catalogue references.
thanks
bruce
