Olaf,
Thanks.. I've actually got it on a nice thick black leather strap with white stitching.. looks even better!!
I know that they aren't the most popular Heuer, but I just love it, te dial has a very 'automobile-like' layout, like an old race car instrument pod. Those long hour markers and the wide circle centers to the sub dial hands..
Cheers
Stewart
: Poor Stewart,
: ooooh, it does hurt to see what the back looks like now.
: I feel with you - got the exact same model, too.
: It was in fact one of the first Heuers I bought some years ago,
: though not really a well known classic.
: Must admit mine doesn't get much wrist-time (and isn't really one
: of my favourites), but it sure has an excellent
: "readability", and apart from that the movement runs
: extremely well.
: All I had to do after I bought it was to change the glass, which
: fortunately caused no problem, and after I (idiot!) accidently
: dropped it once (ouch!) it needed a (fortunately only little)
: repair - being surprisingly quite resistable.
: My back opened very easily, luckily - even I could do it, also only
: equipped with the standard (basic) instruments.
: Can't show a picture right away, sorry. I wear it with a black
: rubber strap, one of those that look like a tire-profile, if you
: hopefully know what I mean.
: I like mine that way, but must say that I like your brown leather
: strap too. Looks good !
: And of course those photos are - as usual - great work !
: So now I took mine out of the "showcase" I've got at
: home, after having payed too little attention to it for quite a
: while; took it and enjoyed holding and looking at it closely.
: Thanks for the inspiration ! :-)
: Cheers,
: Olaf
